Nov 1, 2023

Let’s learn more details about the Overwatch 2 patch notes on October 31 and see what’s new. There are a lot of things to talk about.

The first big Overwatch 2 Season 7 update is here, and it became available on Halloween. The Overwatch Update today features a lot of changes that affect our favorite game. We have already reported about the Overwatch 2 x Le Sserafim event on November 1, but there are a lot of other things you need to be aware of. Consequently, the Overwatch 2 Patch Notes October 31 will walk you through everything. In terms of the collab,m players can play Concert Clash, where they can pick some of the female Overwatch 2 Characters and use special skins.

Overwatch 2 Patch Notes October 31 General Updates

When talking about the Overwatch 2 Patch Notes on October 31, the first things we should include are the general changes. There are a lot of things about the game that are different than before, one of which is the endorsements. According to the OW staff, the level of decay is now different and is more forgiving. In other words, once you finish a match, your endorsement level will not drop if none of the players you were in a game with could have endorsed you. This could be because you have already been endorsed by the specific player or because the latter is your friend. It is also worth knowing that the Endorsement level decay will no longer occur when a server shuts down.

Challenges, Progression, and Social Features

Besides everything mentioned so far, it is also worth knowing that the Overwatch update today also features changes to three additional components. The first one is the challenges because each hero’s profession challenges now have Legendary, Mythic, and Ultimate Player Titles.

In terms of profession, the victory pose will now show your progression level instead of the specific hero level. The idea behind this change was to show your overall progression instead of the hero you’ve ended the match as.

As for the social features, the Overwatch 2 patch notes October 31 reveal that there are several new things:

  • The default option for match text is OFF (it was ON before) for new players.
  • The team voice chat option is on by default.
  • Blizzard did not change the current text ot voice chat settings for existing users.

Overwatch 2 Hero Updates

Alongside everything mentioned so far, the Overwatch 2 patch Notes October 31 also include a few big hero changes. Those things were expected after the buffs and nerfs in Season 7. In fact, we already saw a few minor tweaks, but this is the first big mid-season update that addresses a lot of hero changes.

D.Va

The first hero that received changes in Season 7 is D.Va. After the nerf, her Fision Cannon’s movement speed penalty is down from 40% to 30%. On top of that, Micro Missiles’s projectile speed is now 50 instead of 40. The changes allow D.Va to be much more consistent at medium range and be even more mobile than before.

Doomfirst

Strangely, Doomfirst received 2 nerfs in the Overwatch Update today. Rocket Punch’s min stun is now 0.15 instead of 0.25, whereas the maximum one is 0.6 instead of 0.75.

Winston

Despite being one of the Overwatch 2 Season 7 Meta heroes counters, Winston received a small buff in the most recent update. Winton’s secondary fire range is now up from 30m to 40m.

DPS changes

The Overwatch 2 patch notes October 31 reveal that there are also a lot of changes to some of the most popular DPS heroes. For starters, Bastion gets nerfs because the hero’s Configuration: Assault now has 12s CD instead of 10. Furthermore, his weapon spread increased by 10%.

Another DPS hero who receives changes is Cassidy.  The hero’s Magnetic Grenade now has 12s CD instead of 10s. This change is strange because Cassidy is in his prime right now, but it seems like Blizzard believes he is too strong.

Mei also got some small changes because her Endothermic Blaster now slows by 30% instead of 40%. We can’t say we are surprised by this because Mei’s blaster receives changes all the time. It seems like the most recent ones made her a bit too powerful, which is why Valve decided to nerf her.

Following the reworks, the Overwatch update today reveals that Sombra also receives changes. Her EMP’s cost is down by 10%, which means she will be able to use it more often than before.

Symemtra also got changes, but instead of affecting her damage output, the Overwatch 2 patch notes October 31 reveal that her HP is now down to 200 instead of 225. In other words, the base shield HP is lower than before, so it can make up for the damage boost.

Lastly, we have Widowmaker, and she gets 2 changes. The first one is to her Infra-Sight, which now costs 10% less than before, and the second one is related to Widow’s Kiss. She will need to make 7 shots instead of 3 to reach the maximum spread.

Support

The Overwatch Update today also affects some of the best support heroes right now. Ana, for example, has 12s CD on Biotic Grenade instead of 10s, whereas Baptise’s Immortality Field now has 125 HP instead of 150 and 25s CD instead of 23.

As expected, Illari also received changes because her Solar Rifle’s Primary Fire projectile size is 0.05 instead of 0.1. Moreover, Healing Pylon now has a 50 instead of 75 HP, and his CD, when destroyed, is up to 15s from 12s. We are yet to see if these changes will be enough to balance this incredibly powerful hero.

The next hero that got changes after the Overwatch 2 Patch Notes October 31 is Kiriko. Her Protection Suzu’s cooldown is up from 14s to 15s. Lifeweaver also got changes because Healing Blossomn’s Ammo is now 16 instead of 20, and the max heal is down from 75 to 70. Life Grip also gets changes because the ability’s cooldown is now 19s instead of 16s.

Finally, we have Zenyatta, and the hero gets a lot of important changes. First, the hero’s base HP is now 225 instead of 200, meaning he will be harder to kill. Harmony Orb will now require you to lose your LoS for 5s instead of 3s before it loses its effect. However, Orb of Discord got nerfed to the ground because it can no longer be applied to the same target for 7s after the first time. The good news is that it has a 40m radius instead of 30m.

Overwatch Update Today – Other Changes

Aside from what we’ve mentioned so far, the new update also adds different hero custom controls. There are a lot of new things you need to be familiar with, so check the full changelog for additional details.
