Alan Wake 2 Night Springs and Lake House expansions teased by Remedy

After months of anticipation, you can start collecting Alan Wake 2 achievements on Xbox Series X|S today. Even before we’ve had a chance to explore Wake’s latest nightmare, Remedy Entertainment has offered us some foresight into its upcoming expansions: Night Springs and The Lake House.Earlier this week, Remedy announced that a New Game+ mode will be added to Alan Wake 2 in the coming months, and we expect it’ll arrive as part of the previously teased free DLC. As for the premium expansions, the game’s FAQ page says that we’ll have some new content to explore with Alan Wake 2 protagonists Saga Anderson and Alan Wake, as well as several familiar characters from the franchise. “Visions and dreams. Fiction is written and coming true. Fiction collapses and remains just words on a page. These are those stories… in Night Springs.”The Night Springs expansion will be themed like a TV show, offering multiple self-contained episodes featuring characters we’ve seen in the Alan Wake games. We’ll experience unexplainable things in Night Springs, so it could be an exciting way to soak up more of Remedy’s fantastic franchise. The second expansion, The Lake House, focuses on a “mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake.” The facility is managed by an independent government organization and conducts secret research, but after something goes wrong, both Saga Anderson and Alan Wake find themselves working on the same case once again.We already have Alan Wake Remastered on our list of best Xbox horror games, but does Alan Wake 2 have what it takes to replace it? We’ll just have to wait and see.
