Sea of Thieves Season Ten kicked off last week, adding nine new Sea of Thieves achievements and heralding the introduction of private PvE servers, Guilds, and more in the coming months. On top of that, Rare has now rolled out a new rewards program called Pirate Perks, which unlocks access to exclusive real-world merchandise when you hit specific in-game milestones. While a host of in-game rewards have returned for Season Ten, Pirate Perks will offer you ways to show off your accomplishments outside of the game. You’ll need to link your Sea of Thieves account and Rare Games Store account to access the program. After that, once you hit the required milestones, the corresponding item will feature an “Order Now” button on the Pirate Perks page.Right now, there is a commemorative coin on offer, which is directly linked to Season Ten (reaching level 100), while the rest of the rewards are for general gameplay. There are five t-shirts available for players who reach level 50 with each of the Trading Companies (Hunter’s Call, Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls, and Reaper’s Bones), a t-shirt for reaching rank 10 with Athena’s Fortune, and another t-shirt for reaching the highly lauded Pirate Legend rank. The milestones needed to unlock the exclusive merch mostly have corresponding Xbox achievements, so we’ll link the guide pages below so you can see what is required.Although you still need to spend real money to get the rewards on offer, we still think this is a pretty cool initiative and one that we’d like to see other games employ. Being able to purchase exclusive merch linked to your in-game accomplishments is an added bonus for players loyal to certain games. Hey, ZeniMax, feel free to do this with The Elder Scrolls Online for me! Thanks.
