Festival of the Lost event begins today

Spooky season starts today in Destiny 2, with the Festival of the Lost event returning to the Tower once again. Predictably, though, the best stuff is in the Eververse store — check out those dino armour Ornaments!Festival of the Lost’s main activity is a little different this year, sending Guardians into ‘Haunted Sectors’ rather than the spooky version of the Infinite Forest that previous versions of the event used. You’ll still be gathering Candy as before, and turning it in with Eva in the Tower for some new and returning rewards. Previous event exclusives Horror Story and BrayTech Werewolf — a pair of Kinetic Auto Rifles which come fully Masterworked — are up for grabs, along with a bunch of special masks for the event, a new Exotic Sparrow called Headless Horsepower, and a ‘new’ Legendary Pulse Rifle, Jurassic Green. This is a reskinned version of year one favourite, Lincoln Green, now with a snazzy new paint job and the ability to come with random perks rolls. Given how popular that weapon was in the Crucible back then when its only perk was Quickdraw, there are likely to be some pretty tasty rolls available on this thing. There’s only one other non-sunset Rapid-Fire Frame Pulse Rifle in the pool, too (The Time-Worn Spire, from Iron Banner), so fans of that archetype can spend the next few weeks farming for a PvP god roll. Meanwhile, Tess over in the Eververse store is going to be making bank this week, with the introduction of awesome new dinosaur-themed armour Ornaments for all three classes. Expect these to be available for in-game currency Bright Dust (previous Festival sets would run you 6K each) rather than Silver — Destiny 2’s premium currency — when the event goes live after reset today.Festival of the Lost runs in Destiny 2 from October 12th to November 2nd, and is a free event for all players. Plan on checking out this year’s spooky celebrations? Will you bite on those dino decorations? Let us know!
