The list of games coming to Game Pass in 2024 grows once more as a new Commandos game is on the way. Developed by Claymore Game Studios, Commandos: Origins will take players back to World War II to tell the story of how the iconic Commandos group unites when it comes to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Game Pass next year. The real-time stealth tactics game features over ten missions set in “historically authentic WWII environments” that span from the Arctic to the African desert. Commanding six iconic characters — Jack O’Hara ‘the Green Beret,’ Thomas ‘the Sapper’ Hancock, Francis T. ‘the Sniper’ Woolridge, Samuel ‘the Driver’ Brooklyn, James ‘the Marine’ Blackwood, and Rene ‘the Spy’ Duchamp — you will need to use their unique abilities to infiltrate and sabotage enemy facilities to halt the growing Nazi occupation. Kalypso says in Commando: Origins, there are numerous different ways you can approach each mission and that the new game will feature a “modern user experience with precise and intuitive controls” that enables you to “coordinate complex actions simultaneously to overcome heavily fortified targets.” You’ll also be able to take on missions in two-player co-op either online or via local split-screen. While we wait for gameplay and more on Commandos: Origins, both Commandos 2 and Commandos 3 have come over to Xbox in recent years in the form of HD remasters, so it will be interesting to see how a new Commandos game stacks up against these two.A specific release date hasn’t been announced, but Commandos: Origins will parachute onto Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass in 2024.
