We’ve got a tasty treat with these new images from Haunted Chocolatier, the next game from Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone.Earlier this year, Barone announced he’d be taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to focus on Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update, which will add a “major” festival and more. While we wait for Haunted Chocolatier news, however, Barone has shared a few more glimpses of the game in celebration of reaching one million followers on Twitter. After update 1.6 for Stardew Valley, Barone will be turning back to Haunted Chocolatier. When Barone announced his next game, he said, “It’s evolving organically as I develop it, so I’m not sure where it will go. But at its core, the gameplay loop involves gathering ingredients, making chocolate, and running a chocolate shop. Of course, there’s a lot more to the game than that, but I don’t want to get too deep into at this early stage, partly because I don’t want to be tied down to any particular concept of what the game is.”We also found out that Haunted Chocolatier will have a “greater focus” on combat. A lot of players were curious about whether Haunted Chocolatier would be connected to Stardew Valley, to which Barone replied that “it’s not a ‘Stardew 2′”. We pulled some more info from the game’s FAQ page. It’s “more of an action-RPG” when compared to Stardew Valley, and it’s another “‘town game’, where you move to a new town and try your hand at a new way of living. You’ll get to know the townspeople, achieve your goals and make progress in many ways,” with a chocolate shop being a “focal point” rather than a farm.Stardew Valley, meanwhile, is available to play now with Xbox Game Pass and sits comfortably on our list of the best Xbox Game Pass games. We’ll keep an eye out for a release date for Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update and for more news on Haunted Chocolatier.
