We expect The Outer Worlds release date to land sometime in 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Obsidian Entertainment is also working on Avowed, a first-person fantasy RPG similar to The Elder Scrolls series, so we’ll unlikely see both games in 2024. There has been no officially confirmed date.
The Outer Worlds 2 was first announced in 2021 during the Xbox Showcase presentation, and all we know about the game is what the tagline says: “New solar system, new crew, same Outer Worlds.” It’s highly likely that it’ll keep the same irreverent sense of humor in its marketing as the first game had.

The Outer Worlds 2 has, so far, only been shown in one trailer. In it, we see several unique-looking planets, monsters, and humans that are likely not to appear in the final version of the game. The narrator of the trailers explains that, at the time, “the developers haven’t finished the design, or finished the story, or finished any gameplay that’s actually ready to show.”
