The Hercules Tires Invitational Series will see 16 Rocket League teams from North America compete in a two-part event set to commence on October 20th. G2 Esports, Torrent, XSET, Charlotte Phoenix, and Oxygen Esports are among the list of participants.

Steve Reed, Team Liquid Vice President of Sales, commented: “We’re revved up and eager to bring this event to life with Hercules, a legacy brand known for its quality and reliability.

“They are a natural fit for this series, where speed and precision can make a real difference in how things play out.”

The series will be live-streamed on Team Liquid’s channel with the winners receiving $12,000 (£8,826) in prize money. According to the release, Hercules Tyres will also offer sponsored chatbox giveaways and a virtual tailgate.

Senior VP of Hercules, Joshua Simpson, explained: “Our partnership with Team Liquid will further the progress we are making to expand our brand in authentic and meaningful ways across new platforms.

“It also showcases our commitment to engage new consumers – including a new generation that participate in gaming as a form of competition – and to build relationships through a digitally-focused platform.”

Esports Insider says: A Rocket League tournament is a good thing to sponsor if you’re a tyre manufacturer, that’s certain. It’s always great to see non-endemic brands connect with esports that are related and recently the automotive industry has fully embraced the scene through a variety of partnerships.
