Last week, Rockstar announced GTA: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, and one retailer already has the collection of remasters up for preorder, with the Xbox Series X|S version priced at a whopping £70. Rockstar has yet to confirm pricing for the remastered and enhanced trilogy of games, which includes GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, but UK retailer base.com has listings for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. The retailer lists the Series X|S version with an RRP of £70 and the Xbox One version for £60. It’s possible that the prices listed over on Base are just placeholders, but Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two has previously defended increasing the price of video games. When NBA 2K21 was announced for $70 on Xbox Series X|S/PS5, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the price was “justified” because of the value Take-Two offers consumers with its games. Zelnick later said that there “hasn’t been a frontline price increase for a very long time, although costs have increased significantly” and that prices would be considered on a “title by title basis.”Would you pay £70/$70 for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition on Xbox Series X|S?
