Watch this absolutely ridiculous stolen home base from Tampa Bay Ray’s Randy Arozarena.

October baseball remains undefeated. Just to prove it, Tampa Bay Ray’s outfielder Randy Arozarena stole home in the bottom of the seventh inning against the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the ALDS. That by itself is absolutely ridiculous but to add to the feat, just two innings earlier, the Cuban right-hander smashed a 397-foot bomb out of left field.

The number of players in MLB postseason history who have hit a home run and stolen home base in the same game is one: Arozarena.

Randy Arozarena just keeps making baseball history

This was the second time this postseason a player attempted to steal home: the Yankees’ Aaron Judge took the risk in the Wild Card game against the Red Sox but he was caught reaching.

The 26-year-old Arozarena continues to add the legend of his name. In the regular season, his third in the MLB, he had 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. It’s almost poetic that he would accomplish the feat in the same game. In the 2020 ALCS series against the Houston Astros, he took home the ALCS MVP for his four home runs in the series.

His performance tonight was crucial for the Rays in securing the Game 1 win against the Red Sox. In his four appearances at the plate, he had one hit for the home run and was walked twice, scoring a total of three runs to go alongside the stolen base.

The Rays and Red Sox will go at it again in Game 2 on Friday night.
