Sony Electronics has lifted the lid on a range of BRAVIA XR TVs that are being marketed as ‘Perfect for PS5.’ It’s been a while since Sony did this sort of thing, and reminds me of when the format holder pushed PS3s alongside its latest range of 3D TVs a decade ago.Here’s some of the specifications, along with an example of Auto HDR Tone Mapping implemented in Gran Turismo 7.Auto HDR Tone Mapping[SUP]4[/SUP]: With Auto HDR Tone Mapping, the HDR settings will be optimized instantly during PS5 initial setup. The PS5 will automatically recognize individual BRAVIA XR TV models and select the best HDR setting for the TV accordingly.With the optimized HDR tone mapping level to customers’ BRAVIA display specification, they’ll see crucial details and colors even in high contrast scenes.
