The world of Sony Santa Monica and PlayStation Studios’ God of War: Ragnarok will now be released in 2022.
The official @SonySantaMonica Twitter account released a statement today regarding the delay. They stated that they decided on the delay in order to maintain the safety and wellbeing of their team, creative partners, and families.

A release PlayStation blog also shed some more light on the development of the title. In a Q&A segment with Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst stated that the development of God of War: Ragnarok started a little later than the development of Horizon: Forbidden West. He added that because of this, they decided on the delay to ensure that the team “can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.” He also mentions that the title will also see a release on the PlayStation 4 as well.
