Payday 3 is launching soon in September and the devs, Starbreeze Studios have announced 2 new heisters joining the game as part of the New York gang
Payday 3 is an upcoming game developed by Starbreeze Studios and distributed by Deep Silver. It is a survival first-person shooter game where you have to complete missions as a team. Payday 3 is the third installment in the “Payday” series, which consists of 3 games in total. With the launch date of the game coming closer, the developers finally decided to reveal the unannounced heisters and they have announced that 2 new heisters are joining the game. The initial announcement for the game was made in May 2016, which was almost 7 years ago. Now, the game is set to be released on September 21, 2023, and here’s everything we know about the 2 new heisters joining the game.

In a tweet posted on the official Twitter account for Payday 3 the game, the developers, Starbreeze Studios announced that 2 new heisters will be joining the game’s crew. The tweet was posted to their official account along with Plaion’s who invested in the game’s development, on August 31, 2023. Here’s the tweet that was posted:

In the tweet, they announced that the 2 new heisters joining the New York gang are Pearl and Joy. Pearl and Joy are both old characters who we saw in Payday 2 as part of the game. Considering that Payday 3 is set in a timeline 8 years after the story ended in Payday 2, the character designs for Pearl and Joy have been changed. Both of the characters are now looking older and more mature, ready to start their heisting journey with the old crew. Pearl’s character is an expert infiltrator and con artist who is great at both street and high-risk heists. On the other hand, Joy is a genius hacker and security expert, who aces at heists.
Pearl and Joy will be joining the existing classic Payday crew consisting of Dallas, Wolf, Chains and Hoxton. All 6 of these heisters will come together to create the New York gang that will make up the whole storyline for Payday 3. As mentioned before, the third installment will take place 8 years after the second installment ended with all the heisters leaving their criminal lives and going their separate ways. Yet, they couldn’t stay away from the criminal life, so they are coming together again. Something worth noting is that this third installment will take place in the 20th century aka the 2020s. This means we’ll get to see more advanced and modern surveillance alongside the rise of cryptocurrency.
Needless to say, Payday 3 is going to be an amazing addition to the Payday series as we will get to see a completely new storyline of the game. The modern timeline and setting of this installment just make it even better because we get to experience things we already know of.
