Overwatch League: MuZe And MirroR Leave The LA Gladiators

The Gladiators prepare their roster for Overwatch 2.

Young-hun “MuZe” Kim and Gia Huy “MirroR” Trinh have officially parted ways with the LA Gladiators. They’ve both already unlinked themselves from the Countdown Cup Championship team, posting open invites on social media for other Overwatch League teams to contact them. MirroR is coming off a season where he saw very little playtime other than a few maps early on. It’s expected to see him wanting to move on to other opportunities where he can shine.

MuZe, on the other hand, was part of the most dominating Tank duo in the entire league with the ultra-skilled Indy “SPACE” Halpern. It’s hard to know if this was MuZe or the Gladiators that made the decision. After all, every team will be handling the new solo Tank role of Overwatch 2 differently. Even if MuZe spends time on the bench for the majority of next year on another team, he has quite a few years left before South Korean mandatory military service. He definitely has time to grow and learn. And the game has lots of evolving to do before he’s done with it.

MirroR is a much different case. If picked up, he’ll be playing solely as a specialist, like how he was used for his Doomfist on the Gladiators. He’ll also be able to play his Genji and Echo if he splits time with another projectile DPS. Similar to the way the Atlanta Reign did this last season.

With these players leaving the Gladiators, it still doesn’t leave many holes in the team. Other than possibly needing to pick up a second Tank player. The Gladiators team we see now could possibly be almost identical to what we see when the 2022 season starts.
