NICKMERS and Twitch agree to a deal, keeping him on the platform for the foreseeable future.

Popular video game streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff has re-signed with the Twitch platform, both parties confirmed today. Kolcheff—undoubtedly one of the most recognizable names in all of gaming—has come a long way since joining Twitch in 2010. Games such as Fortnite Battle Royale and Call of Duty: Warzone helped elevate him into the spotlight as one of Twitch’s most successful creators.

With other significant names such as Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar and Ben “DrLupo” Lupo leaving to Twitch and agreeing to terms with YouTube Gaming, the former had to make a worthwhile move. Their latest action keeps former Gears of War professional player Kolcheff and his entire MFAM army on the platform he grew alongside. The saga of Nickmercs on Twitch continues in a reported ground-breaking manner.

NICKMERCS Inks New Deal with Twitch

Twitch and Kolcheff announced the agreement on Twitter today, with the former including a compilation of the FaZe Clan member’s most iconic clips over the last several years across many titles and, of course, the recent MFAM BBQ 2021 event.

The streamer himself posted a clip to celebrate his reported historical deal with Twitch. It depicts a patented NICKMERCS spartan warrior wielding a Twitch-themed sword. A fitting image, considering Kolcheff is a force to be reckoned with from a content standpoint. According to Twitch Tracker, his streams regularly generate between 30K and 50K viewers, regardless of the game or time of day. What’s more, he currently sits in 16th with 28K active subscribers on his channel.

With a loyal fanbase unlike any other, Twitch’s motion to sign Kolcheff was a no-brainer. While the deal’s terms are not public information, Jake Lucky of EsportsTalk called it the “biggest deal ever between a streamer and a platform.” That sentiment is significant, considering Tyler “Ninja” Blevins’ signed with the now-defunct Mixer platform for $50M USD before it folded.

Twitch watched many talented creators exit the platform of late but were unwilling to let NICKMERCS and his army of supporters walk. He’ll remain on Twitch for the foreseeable future with a presumed generous contract.
