Fresh on the heels of reports that Konami is looking to resurrect three of its major IPs – Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill – it’s now been claimed that Kojima Productions is involved in the creation of a new Silent Hill project. That’s at least according to sources close to Gemastu, who added that the project is being funded by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Presumably, this would be the ‘prominent Japanese developer’ that we’ve already heard is working on a Silent Hill title.Konami has remaining tight-lipped over its future plans for the Silent Hill franchise, but if we’re to believe reports, it will showcase its plans at major events in 2022.Related Content – Sony PS5 Complete Guide – A Total Resource On PlayStation 5Silent Hill was released for the PSOne back in 1999 and launched a successful franchise that included Silent Hill 2 (2001), Silent Hill 3 (2003), and Silent Hill 4: The Room (2004). Team Silent then departed the series and new instalments were made by western studios, with mixed results. The last proper entry in the Silent Hill franchise came in 2012 with Silent Hill: Downpour, which wasn’t too bad to be honest.[Source – Gematsu]
