Earlier this week, Dexerto reported that the former Schalke 04 Esports Managing Director had moved to the British organisation, with EXCEL officially confirming the news today.

Reichert joins EXCEL after more than five years at Schalke 04 Esports. During that time he oversaw the German club’s esports growth that helped Schalke 04 set up teams in League of Legends, FIFA, and PES.  The former footballer was also instrumental in growing Germany’s esports scene since the 90’s, and is the Co-founder of SK Gaming with his brothers Ralf and Benjamin.

On his appointment, Reichert said: “I am excited to be joining the EXCEL team as the new Esports Director bringing extensive experience from two top-tier esports organisations. EXCEL’s unique positioning as one of the strongest economies in Europe with its strong management team and support network makes it very well prepared for the future and the opportunities to recruit top-tier talent are endless.”

Esports Insider says: Tim Reichert is certainly at a level of seniority which is extremely rare in esports. His knowledge of the industry will provide extremely valuable to EXCEL, a company that is making big waves in esports in recent months.
