Overwatch League: Paris Eternal Releases Three Players And Head Coach

Byadmin

Oct 1, 2021

Paris is eternally grateful but still moving on.

The Paris Eternal made back-to-back announcements this morning. Firstly, Stefan “Onigod” Fiskerstrand, Samir “Tsuna” Ikram and Ilari “Vestola” Vestola have all been released from the player roster to free agency if they so choose. They also announced that Head Coach Zouheir “GetAmazed” Baba won’t be returning to coach the team for a second season.

With a completely new roster for the 2020 season, it’s no surprise to see that some of the players will be exchanged for replacement additions to the team in 2021. It may be surprising for some to see Vestola leave so soon after only spending half the season with Paris. But it’s important to note that he was added to the team as a replacement for Elliot “ELLIVOTE” Vaneryd. That isn’t to say that he didn’t have an Overwatch League-level performance this year. Just that the Eternal has now had time to see whether Vestola fits into their vision for their team.

Exciting Possibilities

With the Off-Tank spot opening up on the Paris Eternal roster, and Philadelphia Fusion’s French Off-Tank Gael “Poko” Gouzerch taking up free agency in a few days, it begs the question of whether he’ll finally take to the ranks of his home team in Paris. After all, Tsuna recently tweeted the roster of a fully French team for an Espot Overwatch LAN. It includes Poko, Tsuna, and current Paris Eternal Main Support player Arthur “Dridro” Szanto. That team will also include former Paris Eternal Main support Brice “FDGod” Monscavoir, who currently plays for the San Francisco Shock. Along with former Paris Eternal Main Tank Benjamin “BenBest” Dieulafait, along with GetAmazed as their coach.

Not only will this team probably destroy the competition at the LAN. But they will also get a chance to show off their skills in the off-season. This would give players like Poko, BenBest, and Tsuna a chance to give teams an exhibition and regain interest in them.
