The first console-exclusive tournament of Fortnite Season 8 has been announced!
Tournament time has arrived in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 8. Players have had sufficient time to prepare themselves for the challenge ahead, whether it be the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) or the previously promised console-specific competitions. This season, Epic Games laid out plans for more console tournaments and delivered on that promise, officially announcing the PlayStation Cup.
Occurring on October 2 only for competitors on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the PlayStation Cup is the first console-specific tournament of the season. We have all the information you need to compete in this competition and win a share of over $113K USD spread throughout all seven competitive regions.

PlayStation Cup Format & Schedule
The Season 8 PlayStation Cup is a solo tournament on October 2, where players must compete in two rounds to win a share of the prize pool potentially. Round one is open to all players, regardless of their Arena Mode ranking. However, players need to have two-factor authentication turned on and reach account level 30 to participate.
The top 100 teams in each region will advance to round two for a shot at cash prizes. It’s important to note that players located in Japan cannot compete in this tournament per Epic’s blog post. The rules do not mention if the PlayStation Cup is region-locked.
Here is the complete format breakdown:
Round One
- Open to all players
- Three-hour session
- A maximum of ten matches
- Top 100 advance to round two
Round Two
- Top 100 players in each region
- Six custom matches
- The highest point-earning players will win a share of $113K USD
PlayStation Cup Scoring System
This tournament’s scoring system yields 30 points per Victory Royale and one per elimination in the first round. Round two features the same scoring system, except elimination points increase to two each.

- Victory Royale: 30 points
- 2nd: 25 points
- 3rd: 22 points
- 4th: 20 points
- 5th: 19 points
- 6th: 17 points
- 7th: 16 points
- 8th: 15 points
- 9th: 14 points
- 10th: 13 points
- 11th – 15th: 11 points
- 16th – 20th: 9 points
- 21st – 25th: 7 points
- 26th – 30th: 5 points
- 31st – 35th: 4 points
- 36th – 40th: 3 points
- 41st – 50th: 2 points
- 51st – 75th: 1 point
- Each Elimination: 1 point*
- *Round 2 Eliminations are worth 2 points.
PlayStation Cup Prize Pool
The four biggest regions—Europe, NA East, NA West and Brazil—have the same prize pool. Each winner collects $1.2K USD and payments stretch down to the top-64 players. OCE, Middle East and Asia payout to top-20, and the winners take home $650 USD.
