Another year, another hype song for the World Championship.

Today, after much anticipation from the community, Riot Games released the Worlds 2021 song. Every year they release one to commemorate the World Championship and the players that take part. This year, it’s focused on Heo “ShowMaker” Su, DAMWON KIA’s mid laner who won the Championship in 2020. On top of being a great song, it has stunning visuals worthy of representing Worlds and the players, with some pretty epic battle scenes.

Though Showmaker was the main character here, there are a host of other fan-favorite players throughout. Some of those featured are Edward Gaming’s Park “Viper” Do-hyeon, G2 Esports’ Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, TSM’s Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage, Cloud9’s Robert “Blaber” Huang and Hanwha Life Esports’ Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon.

Following in the footsteps of huge bands like Imagine Dragons, Zedd and Chrissy Costanza, this year PVRIS worked with the Riot Games Music team. They fit in perfectly and were instrumental in creating this truly memorable song. Lynn Gunn of PVRIS was very in touch with it in particular:

“I think it’s very relevant and close to home. My life feels like it’s in a constant state of reinvention and rising from the ashes. ‘Destruction’ is essential for growth and change and I always try to embrace the storm/chaos when it’s happening. I know there’s always strength and greatness on the other side of struggles, challenges, destruction, loss, etc. It’s important to lean in! Sometimes you need to ‘burn it all down’ to survive.”

With this, all that’s really left to do is jam out and wait for the World Championship to start. The action starts with the Play-in Stage on October 5 at 7 AM EST!
