Games are taking up more space than ever nowadays, making internal SSD upgrades and external drives all but a necessity for folks with gigantic gaming libraries. These drives typically don’t come cheap, but a bunch of PS5 internal SSDs, Steam Deck and Switch microSD cards, and external hard drives are seeing huge price cuts ahead of Prime Day 2023.
One of the best deals is for the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD, which is now available for just $100 (down from $140). The drive is fully compatible with PS5 and should be more than enough to hold all the big games launching later this year. If you don’t need 2TB but want to stick with Samsung, the 1TB model of the newer 990 Pro is on sale for only $70 (down from $170). Keep in mind that both of these SKUs don’t come with a heatsink, so if you want to use them with your PS5, you’ll need to buy a cheap heatsink (installation is easy).

If you’re playing on Steam Deck or Switch, a handful of MicroSD cards are also on sale. This includes the Samsung Evo Select 256GB MicroSD Card for $18 (down from $40), the Samsung Evo Select 128GB MicroSD Card for $12 (down from $20), and the fast Samsung Pro Plus 512GB for only $41.55–this one is particularly great for transferring files quickly. You’ll also find the gigantic Seagate Expansion 16TB External Hard Drive listed for $280 (down from $540), which is a great option for PC gamers that need a place to hold their ever-growing library of games.
Plenty of other storage solutions are on sale right now, and you’ll find a list of our favorites below.
