Notre Dame quarterback Jack Coan was injured on a third-quarter sack and has been replaced by Drew Pyne.

Jack Coan was the central figure in the Notre Dame-Wisconsin game but he may not be there for the ending.

Coan, the starting quarterback for Notre Dame after transferring from Wisconsin in the offseason left the game with an injury in the third quarter.

It was a 10-10 game when Coan left after taking a sack that appeared to hurt his ankle or lower leg.

With Coan going to the locker room for further evaluation, Drew Pyne took over as the Irish quarterback.

Tyler Buchner was the backup to Coan but he’s injured and held out of this game.

The remainder of the Notre Dame-Wisconsin game can be seen on FOX with Joel Klatt and Gus Johnson on the call.

Jack Coan injury update

FOX sideline reporter Jenny Taft reported in the fourth quarter that Coan is out for the rest of the game and Pyne will be the quarterback for Notre Dame to end the game. Notre Dame leads Wisconsin, 17-13.
