Hinterland Games has announced that The Long Dark’s fourth episode will launch on October 6th, bringing with it a new region to explore and some new achievements to unlock. The new episode titled “Fury, Then Silence” sees Mackenzie captured by a gang of convicts in one of the darkest corners of Great Bear Island. He’ll need to recover the Hardcase and continue his search for the missing Astrid, but also maybe save some innocent people caught in a deadly confrontation. The episode is set in a brand new region featuring an old prison complex and adds 7-10 hours of gameplay, 60 minutes of narrative cinematics and over 40 minutes of new music. The Long Dark’s director, Raphael van Lierop, also confirmed on Twitter that new achievements will be coming with Episode Four. The new Blackrock Region will also be coming to The Long Dark’s Survival Mode before the end of the year. Hinterland has also announced that it will be increasing the price of The Long Dark. “With the launch of Episode Four, we’re increasing the price for The Long Dark to $34.99 USD ($5 increase),” notes Hinterland. We feel this is more reflective of the current state of the game in terms of quality and the scope of content.” This new price will come into effect on October 6th, the day Episode Four launches.
