Just after it pushed the public releases for iOS/iPadOS 15 and watchOS 8, Apple is now seeding iOS/iPadOS 15.1 to developers. The update will include more of the features that Apple promised for iOS 15, but hasn’t delivered with the recent update.

Among these features is SharePlay, which lets users watch or listen to content with another person within a FaceTime call. They can also share the iPhone’s screen and SharePlay will work across all apple devices and across many streaming services.

Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos are also available with iOS 15.1 beta. Dolby Atmos brings a new 3D-listening experience to supported Apple Music tracks on AirPods devices. Meanwhile, Lossless audio on Apple Music can only be heard on iOS or Mac via a wired headset, or through a HomePod device, though you will need to have the HomePod 15.1 beta installed on the smart speaker to activate the features through the Home app.

There’s a new option in the Phone app’s settings that will let Siri “Announce Calls” so you know who is calling. iOS 15 brings support for COVID-19 vaccination information to be stored in the Health app, but in 51.1, Apple Wallet gains support for some ID cards, including COVID-19 vaccination info.

The public release of iOS 15 arrived on Monday, which brought changes to notifications, Focus profiles, Safari layout changes and added support for web extensions. There are also improvements to Screen Time and Nearby Interaction based on Ultra Wide Band (used with Apple’s AirTags.
