Western Digital has announced that its rumored Xbox Series X|S expansion cards are now available to purchase, offering up 512GB and 1TB options.Following an accidental listing on BestBuy earlier this year, Western Digital has announced that its C50 Xbox Series X|S expansion cards can now be purchased. While priced similarly to its only other competition, Seagate, the arrival of new expansion cards hopefully means we could see prices drop further in the future as competition thickens.Western Digital C50 512GB and 1TB options now availableWestern Digital’s new C50 expansion cards for Xbox Series X|S come in 512GB ( $79.99 / £89.99) and 1TB ($149.99 / £149.99) sizes. On the Microsoft Store, Seagate’s cards are priced exactly the same in the US, while the UK Microsoft Store doesn’t have the 512GB options in stock and has priced the 1TB over £200. A quick look at Game shows that the Seagate 512GB is available for £99.99 and the 1TB for £169, so Western Digital looks to have won this round.Much like its competition, the Western Digital C50 is designed as a plug-and-play device that sits in the expansion card slot on the rear of your Xbox Series X or S console. It uses Xbox Velocity Architecture to offer similar performance to the internal drives, meaning you’ll be able to play Xbox Series X|S optimized games from it. The C50’s design is a little more rugged than Seagate’s but also comes with a lanyard hoop so you can store and carry them easily if you have multiple cards. What do you think of Western Digital’s new Xbox Series X|S expansion cards? Will you pick one up or wait to see if prices drop a little first? Let us know down below!
