Between sessions of Deep Dive and Salvage, Destiny 2 has settled into its regular groove at the start of Season of the Deep. A new story mission is available after the weekly reset, players are discovering lethal new exploits with seasonal weapons, and of course, Xur is back for another weekend of trading. If you’ve got the Legendary Shards, then Xur has the Exotic gear that you’re looking for. Here’s where you can find Xur this week and what the Agent of the Nine has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in the EDZ, in the Winding Cove area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Sweet Business. Hunters can pick up Aeon Swift gauntlets; Titans can grab the Lion Rampant leg armor; and Warlocks can buy the Vesper of Radius armor.
Xur Location
Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone, then hop on your sparrow and go north. Take the collapsed overpass on the left and look for a cave near the bend in the road. Follow the tunnel through the cliff face to reach a higher ridge where a Fallen dropship has crashed; you’ll find Xur waiting there.
Xur Exotic and Legendary Items
- Exotic Engram – 97 Legendary Shards
- Sweet Business – 29 Legendary Shards
- Lion Rampant – 23 Legendary Shards
- Aeon Swift – 23 Legendary Shards
- Vesper of Radius – 23 Legendary Shards
- Hawkmoon – 200 Legendary Shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
- Dead Man’s Tale – 200 Legendary Shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
- Xenology quest – Free
- Legendary weapons and armor – 50 Legendary Shards, 1,000 Glimmer
Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 Vanguard strikes or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but from this season, you’ll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers has also increased, as you’ll now be able to hold up to five of them at a time.
Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
Exotic Armor
Aeon Swift (Hunter gauntlets)
Aeon Swift is one those unique Exotics that is focused on teamwork. Its primary perk depends on the Exotic-specific mod it has slotted in. One handy ability for PvE, for example, is a perk that allows for Heavy ammo bricks to be generated for your teammates when you use a finisher on a challenging combatant. As for stats, it has some pretty decent numbers for resilience, mobility, and discipline.
- Mobility: 12
- Resilience: 11
- Recovery: 11
- Discipline: 19
- Intellect: 10
- Strength: 2
- Total: 65
Lion Rampant (Titan leg armor)
This Titan Exotic is well-suited for PvP, as you’ll gain several airborne effectiveness buffs with it equipped. That makes it handy for those stages where you want to get the aerial drop on enemies and you have the quick reflexes to take advantage of this particular Exotic’s strengths. This roll of Lion Rampart has a high stat total, with a lot of Recovery and Discipline, which are nice, but Resilience is lower than is ideal for a Titan, unless you supplement yourself with other armor or mods.
- Mobility: 6
- Resilience: 8
- Recovery: 20
- Discipline: 20
- Intellect: 11
- Strength: 2
- Total: 67
Vesper of Radius (Warlock chest armor)
This Warlock Exotic recently got an upgrade at the start of Season of the Deep, as Vesper of Radius makes Arc rifts even deadlier. When you use your subclass ability, it’ll periodically release Arc shockwaves, and any enemy defeated by them will explode. Any enemy caught by a shockwave or explosion will also be blinded, and when you’re surrounded, your rift energy will recharge more quickly. Stats-wise, you’ll have to rely on Ionic Traces to refill your abilities, as discipline and intellect are poor, but strength and recovery are quite good.
- Mobility: 9
- Resilience: 11
- Recovery: 13
- Discipline: 6
- Intellect: 6
- Strength: 18
- Total: 63
Exotic Weapons
Sweet Business (Auto rifle)
Sweet Business–and several other Exotic weapons–got upgrades this season, and this new version of the powerful auto rifle spits both hot lead and explosions at enemies. It also reloads instantly when you pick up Special or Heavy ammo bricks, and when paired with a Titan wearing the Actium War Rig Exotic, you’ll be unleashing a silly amount of rounds at anything in your way.
- Polygonal Rifling
- Armor-Piercing Rounds
- Business Time
- Composite Stock
Hawkmoon (Hand cannon)
This week’s roll of Hawkmoon includes Moving Target, which grants increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down the sights. This isn’t a very popular perk in PvP, as Rangefinder and Opening Shot has more utility when using this hand cannon in multiplayer.
- Chambered Compensator
- Alloy Magazine
- Moving Target
- Heavy Grip
Dead Man’s Tale (Scout rifle)
On its own, Outlaw is a pretty great perk for Dead Man’s Tale. Precision kills greatly decrease reload time, which makes it perfect for clearing red-bar enemies from a distance, and the rest of this build keeps it stable and deadly. If you’re looking for a reliable PvE weapon this week, Dead Man’s Tale is a good scout rifle to grab.
- Corkscrew Rifling
- High-Caliber Rounds
- Outlaw
- Hand-Laid Stock
