Magical spells in Dota 2 have a knack for hitting enemy heroes at their weakest moments to win team fights. Many people play nukers in their matches to cast multiple spells that can rip through the health of their enemies. Carry heroes and support heroes can buy a Pipe of Insight to counter magical spells from the
enemy team.

Pipe of Insight can provide up to 20% magic resistance and 6 health regeneration rate to heroes. The item can be bought for 3375 gold in the game. Allies around heroes with a Pipe of Insight can gain up to 2.5 bonus health per second and 10% magic resistance from Insight aura. You can cast Barrier using Pipe of Insight to absorb 450 damage from magical spells in battles. Barrier lasts for 12 seconds and can be used on allies in a radius of 1200.

Take a look at the best heroes to buy a Pipe of Insight in the latest update to Dota 2.

Lich

Lich helps Sven fight Tidehunter using Pipe of Insight

Lich is an outstanding Intelligence hero in Dota 2. He has a base mana pool of 363 and gains up to 3.8 Intelligence per level. The support hero can buy a Pipe of Insight to protect his teammates in the 7.33c patch. He can cast Frost Shield on his allies to prevent them from taking lethal amounts of damage in battles.

Frost Shield deals 50 damage per second (DPS) to enemy heroes around the target ally. Enemy heroes affected by Frost Shield have their attack damage reduced by 60% and their movement speed slowed by 35% for 8 seconds. You can also use Frost Shield on your towers to defend them in lanes with Lich. He can cast Barrier before initiating team fights to let allies strike enemy heroes without hesitation. Pipe of Insight has a cooldown of 60 seconds and needs 150 mana to be used per cast. Frost Shield has a cooldown of 15 seconds and requires 130 mana. You can cast these abilities to counter nukers in the enemy team during your matches.

Lich can cast Frost Blast on enemy heroes to deal 360 damage to them in battles. Frost Blast can hit all enemy units in a radius of 200 around an enemy hero, decreasing their attack speed by 60 for 4 seconds. Most Dota 2 players pick Lich to counter carry heroes with an increased attack speed. Lich can cast Frost Blast to help allies fight enemy heroes like Huskar, Night Stalker, Alchemist, and Bloodseeker. The Barrier provided by Pipe of Insight can reduce damage taken from spells like Inner Fire, Void, Unstable Concoction, and Blood Rite.

You can disable enemy heroes using Sinister Gaze to ambush your opponents in the 7.33c patch with Lich. He can upgrade his ability using an Aghanim’s Scepter to disable multiple enemy heroes in a small radius to pull them toward the Lich for 2 seconds. You can release a ball of frost using his ulti, Chain Frost, to deal 550 damage per bounce. Chain Frost can bounce off of enemy heroes for a total of 10 bounces. Enemy units attacked by Chain Frost will have their movement speed and attack speed slowed for a few seconds, letting allies escape enemy encounters with ease while teaming up with Lich. Members of your team can absorb damage from abilities cast by the enemy team while Barrier is active to take less damage from magical spells. You can nuke enemy heroes with Frost Blast while your allies
reach safety.

dire situations.

The Universal hero can deal up to 70 damage per charge using Soul Assumption with a maximum of 6 charges available to Visage. You can cast Grave Chill on enemy heroes to drain their movement speed and attack speed for up to 6 seconds. You can activate Rot after using Meat Hook to deal 120 DPS to enemy heroes. Pipe of Insight will reduce the damage taken from Rot during battles, giving Pudge an adequate health regeneration rate to cast his spells multiple times during team fights.

You can equip an Aghanim’s Scepter for Pudge to increase the radius of Rot by 200. The upgraded ability, Rot, also decreases the health regeneration rate of enemy heroes by 20%. Pudge can cast Dismember on his opponents to deal an initial damage of 120 per second and additional damage based on his Strength attributes. You can max out Flesh Heap to gain up to 2 Strength per kill. The permanent Strength bonus gained from Flesh Heap can help Pudge tank more damage from magical spells cast by enemy heroes.

The melee hero can buy a Blink Dagger to surprise enemy heroes in lanes. You can use Meat Hook to pull enemy heroes into neutral creep camps to distract them in battles. Blink Dagger can be bought for 2250 gold. You can purchase a Heart of Tarrasque to gain an additional 40 Strength and 250 health. Heart of Tarrasque also increases the health regeneration rate of Pudge by 1.6% of his maximum health. Pudge can deal loads of damage to enemy heroes after buying Heart of Tarrasque using Dismember. He can also activate Barrier using Pipe of Insight to prevent his allies from getting killed in the 7.33c patch.
