UFC lightweight prospect Arman Tsarukyan went to the Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort Triller boxing card and thinks the fights were bad for the sport.
Arman Tsarukyan is in the middle of his preparation for his UFC Vegas 37 bout against Christos Giagos, but he had a lot to say after attending the latest Triller boxing event.
Tsarukyan was in attendance with a few of his friends to bet on the Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort card and wasn’t a fan of the product in the ring. During his pre-fight press conference, Tsarukyan explained his feelings behind watching older fighters such as Tito Ortiz and Holyfield get destroyed in the ring.
“For me, a professional fighter watching guys compete at 58 years old, it’s bad,” Tsarukyan said. “If they’re in it to make money, that’s fine. But if they’re in it just to fight, it’s not healthy.
“Their time is already spent, it’s bad for the sport.”

Holyfield got TKO’d just seconds into the first round of his fight with Belfort, a former UFC standout and one of the greatest in MMA history. The 58-year-old Holyfield made his return to the ring on short notice after years away from the sport he once dominated as a heavyweight champion.
Tsarukyan is looking for another big win as he makes his way up the lightweight division. He’s won three bouts in a row including a unanimous decision win over Matt Frevola at UFC 257.
