All players are invited to participate in a technical stress test for Age of Empires IV this weekend, giving you a chance to try out AOE4 ahead of its release date. The technical stress test runs from September 17th to the 20th. You can access the build in the Xbox Insider Hub app or on Steam. This test is intended to give the devs an idea of how matchmaking and lobbies will fare, and they add that it’s being held over one weekend so that it’ll be “driving as many people as possible” into the test.You can play the game’s tutorial or against the AI in the multiplayer custom lobby during the test, but the devs encourage players to play against each other. “The more data we get from different match-ups across various servers, the more action our development team will be able to take to prep our systems for the big day.” In the test build, you’ll be able to play across five maps as the English, the Chinese, the Holy Roman Empire, or the Abbasid Dynasty.The test build will be accessible from September 17th to the 20th, with Age of Empires IV set to launch in full on October 28th.
