Trawling the ocean for treasure could become more lucrative and dangerous in 2023, as Black Salt Games has revealed some of the free and paid content coming to Dredge via its roadmap.Black Salt Games has revealed its 2023 roadmap for Dredge, which includes three free updates coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One players and a paid DLC that explores the nefarious schemes of the Ironhaven Corporation.Dredge 2023 roadmapAs detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the first free update for Dredge will arrive later this month and adds extended functionality to the map. The new feature adds map markers of varying icons to represent a host of different encounters, such as shipwrecks, mysteries, dangers, and more. Later in Q2 2023, the second update will add two new modes: Passive and Photo. As the name suggests, Passive Mode removes any monster hostility towards you, allowing you to fish to your heart’s content without any worry of a large abomination coming up from the depths for a tasty snack. As for Photo Mode, Black Salt has said that a new character will appear in-game to help you unlock the camera ability before sharing clues for good wildlife spots. The third update in 2023 will add boat customisations to Dredge, offering you ways to customise the paint schemes and flags of your vessel. That will then be followed by a paid but “entirely optional” DLC that sees us investigating the Ironhaven Corporation, which is looking to establish an “innovative drilling operation in the area to revitalise the towns and populations.” The corporation’s motive is a bit of a mystery, though, but as we’re gathering materials to construct the new buildings, all might be revealed. Will you be looking forward to the map update arriving later this month? Drop down below and let us know!
