GTA 5 Xbox Series X|S version delayed to March 2022

Grand Theft Auto V won’t be getting its Xbox Series X|S release this year after all — a new trailer that dropped at this evening’s PlayStation Showcase confirmed that the enhanced version will now arrive in March 2022.While the new trailer only specified the PS5 version slipping by four months, it would have been weird for the Sony console to get the enhanced version later than another, especially given the ongoing monthly GTA Online promotions in place on that side of the fence. Sure enough, a post on Rockstar’s site confirms that both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are affected.Honestly, the trailer doesn’t really look like a massive step up from the version we already have, so fingers crossed there’s more to it than meets the eye. Improved frame rates will be nice, for sure, and native support for speedy SSD loading could let us zip across the map and swap between characters in no time. Still, considering Take-Two said that this wouldn’t just be a “simple port,” we perhaps expected to see something a little more impressive. What’s your take on the unprecedented news of a game that came out eight years ago getting delayed? Is GTA 6 ever going to happen? Let us know your thoughts below!
