Destiny 2 players will never need to worry about running out of Primary ammo again

Destiny 2 is a game that is constantly in flux, but Season 15 will bring one of the biggest changes in quite some time — Bungie is removing Primary ammo drops from the game, giving all basic weapons infinite reserves. The news came in the most recent This Week at Bungie post, which is all about weapons. There are loads of changes coming, looking at the extensive and in-depth patch notes, but the removal of white ammo bricks entirely is one of the most surprising changes. “Running out of Primary ammo has never been tactically interesting,” writes Bungie’s Chris Proctor, and while it’s not something that tends to come up all that often, some weapons with smaller reserves (or, conversely, those that absolutely chew through ammo) have been known to run dry at inconvenient times. This change directly impacts a number of abilities, perks, and weapons, but reading through the notes, it seems like Bungie has all bases covered. Perks related to reserves have been modified, potentially problematic weapons such as breech-loaded grenade launchers have been reworked slightly, while even niche cases seem to be covered — Sweet Business, secretly the best weapon in the game (no bias here, honest), gets a low-key buff with this change, now completely refilling its 150-shot magazine when collecting any type of ammo, rather than just now-removed Primary bricks. Bring it.Elsewhere in the notes, we see quite a few significant changes to other notable weapons. Ever-present boss-melter Anarchy is getting a significant 30% reduction to its boss damage, which might be enough to stop it being best-in-slot for almost every raid encounter. Meanwhile, original Destiny favourite Vex Mythoclast gets all manner of buffs, with boosts to damage (close to 40% in PvE content), range, stability, and rate of fire, among other things. Check the full update on Bungie’s site if you want to go deeper — there’s a lot to get through.Season 15 of Destiny 2 begins on Tuesday, bringing full cross-play, new content, new gear, and a whole host of changes. Will you be loading back in to see what difference all these changes make? Let us know in the comments, Guardians!
