The Black Panther: War for Wakanda expansion arrives today for Marvel’s Avengers, adding a new playable hero, a new jungle biome, two new villains, and more. Square Enix says this is the game’s biggest expansion yet. King T’Challa joins as the new playable hero whose abilities “reward defensive play — blocks and parries build your Intrinsic Meter that when full allows you to release a burst of kinetic energy.” He can also make use of a “pounce mechanic” to take down enemies. The War for Wakanda expansion also adds Klaw and Crossbones as new villains, while Klaw’s militia will also pose a threat. “The new enemies we’ve introduced in War for Wakanda introduce new elements to combat like Vibranium-armored enemies, drones that fly above the battlefield and debuff your Heroes, arachnid-like robots that attack you in large numbers, and more,” the devs explain. Also new with the expansion is the jungle biome, which the devs say will require skilful platforming, and the new outpost: the capitol of Birnin Zana, where you’ll run into other well-known characters such as Shuri and Okoye.The War for Wakanda expansion arrives today, August 17th.
