EA has cautioned playtesters who are considering sharing footage from Battlefield 2042’s recent technical test, warning that leakers could be banned from the final game when it launches in October. PC and Xbox players were able to get hands-on with Battlefield 2042 over the weekend. Naturally, gameplay footage and screenshots from the technical test found their way onto the internet and spread across the internet like wildfire. EA acted quickly to pull the raw gameplay footage, but many clips can still be found in the usual subreddits and forums. Adam Freeman, lead community manager at EA Studios, took to Twitter shortly after the leaks, reminding playtesters that they had signed a non-disclosure agreement and that sharing videos and screenshots would be met with action from the publisher. “If you have access this weekend, make sure to read through your invitation email and follow the information provided.” Freeman said on Twitter. “You’re under NDA for this Playtest, so Videos, Screenshots and Streaming from this Playtest result in Strikes on your channels.”Break the rules, expect to lose access to both the Technical Playtest, future EA Tests, and potentially access to 2042 itself when it releases,” Freeman added in a further tweet. Even now, new leaked gameplay footage is still being uploaded to Twitter, so if you want to go into Battlefield 2042 with fresh eyes, it may be worth avoiding social media until EA pulls the clips. Battlefield 2042 launches for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on October 22nd.
