Anderson Silva’s son, Kalyl absolutely destroyed his opponent in the ring during his kickboxing debut in FightersRep.

The apple apparently doesn’t fall far from Anderson Silva’s family tree after his son, Kalyl ended his kickboxing debut in a cinematic fashion with a head-kick knockout.

Kalyl is a freak athlete who was scheduled to make his kickboxing debut in FightersRep, a smaller promotion based in California. He is also a soccer player for a United Premier Soccer League team, LA10.

Just seconds into the fight, Kalyl countered a pair of hard low kicks with a blistering-fast high kick of his own, driving his opponent completely off-balance and slamming hard into the canvas. The referee waved off the fight just 12 seconds into the bout, awarding Kalyl with the victory.

The viral moment comes just months after Silva made his own debut in the boxing ring against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., earning a split-decision win in an impressive performance since making the transition from MMA to boxing. Silva is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time with a legendary run at the UFC middleweight champion to go along with a highlight reel that fans will never get tired of watching.

Anderson Silva is passing his elite combat skills on to his children

Silva decided to make the move from MMA to Boxing after suffering a series of defeats in the UFC octagon, including back-to-back knockout losses to Jared Cannonier and Uriah Hall. It was recently announced that Silva will face a former UFC colleague, Tito Ortiz in a boxing match on Sept. 11.

The fight will be contested over eight rounds and will be part of the undercard for the highly-anticipated Oscar De La Hoya vs. Vitor Belfort event held by Triller. It will be a sanctioned boxing match and will not be considered an exhibition.

It’s pretty clear that Silva has passed along his trademark athleticism off to his children, and more specifically his son Kalyl as he begins a new journey in kickboxing. It’ll certainly be a fun storyline to watch over the next few years as the Silva family continues to make their presence felt in combat sports.
