Texas A&M football’s Thursday practice was canceled as Kyle Field and the Bight football complex were evacuated because of a bomb threat.
Thursday was supposed to be a low-key day for the Texas A&M football program on their bye week.
Instead, the Aggies got a scare when a bomb threat forced the evacuation of Kyle Field and the school’s football facilities.
At 1:25 p.m. local time, Texas A&M’s emergency alert system reported a bomb threat at the stadium.

Players and coaches were spotted outside while the buildings were evacuated.
Thankfully, the stadium and surrounding area were given the all-clear just before 4:00 p.m. Central.
Campus security and police had to take the threat seriously, even if nothing came of it. It could have been seriously disruptive to the Aggies’ preparations for a game week. Fortunately, there is no game for Texas A&M this week as the team is on a bye.
Last weekend the Aggies faced off with Alabama and nearly pulled off an epic upset. However, they fell short with the clock ending a 10-play drive to the goal line before A&M could score the winning touchdown.
While there was a moral victory to be had in nearly upsetting the No. 1 team in the nation, it was also Texas A&M’s second loss in a row and third of the season. Considering the expectations for this campaign, fans will want to see more fight in the second half of the year.
They will try to get things back on track next Saturday when they travel to play South Carolina.
