A group of ex-Typhoon Studios developers have founded Raccoon Logic, with the financial backing of Tencent. The new studio will continue where Typhoon left off, having regained control of the Journey to the Savage Planet IP.Raccoon Logic has been founded by five ex-Typhoon Studios developers with a vast amount of industry experience behind them from key positions within EA, Ubisoft, and WB Games. The group have all come from Typhoon Studios — which was closed earlier this year when Google shut down its SG&E division — and have regained control of the IP for Typhoon’s popular space-adventure game, Journey to the Savage Planet, which was released on Stadia when Google purchased the studio. Hopefully, this will mean that there is a possibility for another adventure in the colourful world. The press release for the new studio gave us a look at the leadership team behind Raccoon Logic, which you can find below: Alex Hutchinson, creative director and co-founder. Their previous titles range from Batman: Arkham Origins, Assassin’s Creed, and Skate. Now, with the financial backing of Tencent they can return to the indie scene from their new Montreal-based studio. Raccoon Logic creative director Alex Hutchinson said in a press release:“We’re excited to be back in the indie space, making the games we truly believe in with an amazing new team. The early investment from Tencent is a huge boost, meaning we can do significant work on our own before we start talking to publishers. We love systemic games, games with a sense of humour and a big heart, and games with strong flavours that get reactions from players. We’re going to keep pushing on those ideas and we’ll have something to show soon!”We’ll let you know when there is new information regarding Raccon Logic’s projects.
