Back in mid-August a bunch of certifications were issued for the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, signifying its imminent launch, and today Samsung has indeed made it official.
Ruggedness is the name of the game with this one, and definitely its main selling point. The device comes with a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 TFT LCD touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 5 on top, an unnamed “6nm Octa-Core Processor” that is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G according to the Google Play Console, either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, microSD card support, and a 7,600 mAh replaceable battery. It can be used without a battery, connected to the mains, even in high temperature environments. An S Pen stylus comes with it.

The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro and its S Pen are IP68 rated as protected from dust, dirt, and sand, and can withstand being submerged in up to 1.5m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. The tablet is also MIL-STD-810H tested to be able to withstand altitude, humidity, immersion, salt spray, dust, vibration, and drops from 1m “naked” or 1.2m if you’re using the case that comes with it in the box.
The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro will be available “in parts of Europe” in September, Samsung says, with Asia, Latin America, North America, and the Middle East to follow “later in 2022”.
