The most recent summer event hitting the MMO Final Fantasy XIV, Moonfire Faire starts today on the 10th August 2022, this event will be running until Friday 26th August 2022 at 14:59 GMT. This is a returning event that comes back for Summer, but though the event Moonfire Faire is the same questline is often different each year. There will be returning characters from previous events for veteran players, but this does not affect the experience of new players that are enjoying the event for the first time.How to Start Moonfire FaireYou can unlock the event from Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks, then once you are in Limsa, the area for the NPC is X11.5/Y13.8. You will be required to reach level 30 before being able to do the quest no other requirements such as story are necessary for this event. Once you are there you will meet Mayaru Moyaru, this NPC will start you off on the quest chain.Moonfire Faire Quest GuideVisit Mayaru Moyaru at X11.5/Y13.8, this will unlock the quest “A Matter of Course” when the dialogue has finished, he will guide you to Costa Del Sol for the second part of the quest. You can access Costa Del Sol via teleport or from the boat in Limsa.The quest for the Moonfire Faire will send you to the location of X36.1/ Y26.7 , at this position there is an NPC named Haermaga that will continue the story and put you onto the next part of the quest.After talking Haermaga, the quest will then have you chat with him again to continue the questline. This will lead you to the NPC R’fhul Tia who is located at X36.2/Y25.0. This is a recurring character from previous events.When the cutscene has ended, you must then head to X36.3/Y28.0 for the next part of the questline.You will then be able to finish the quest “A Matter of Course” by speaking to R’fhul TiaThe next quest is called “Fhul Me Once”, you can see the marker as soon as you finish the cutscene from finishing “A Matter of Course” This step involves using the emote command /comfort which can be accessed either by typing /comfort or from opening the emote menu, in the social tab by pressing start on controller.You will then be directed to talking to Beaudefoin who will start the jumping puzzle challenge, with this puzzle you can either go the old route from previous years or challenge yourself with a new path that has been made for 2022. If you struggle with the platforming, you can talk to the Faire Adventurer, who has a blue marker above his head next to Beaudefoin, this will allow you to skip the first section of the jumping puzzle.After completing the first part of the puzzle, you are able to talk to Hildelana. This will unlock a checkpoint which can be accessed from the Faire Adventurer. There is another Faire Adventurer after getting past Hildelana that will allow you to skip the second part of the jumping puzzle.When you have completed the second jumping puzzle, you can talk to P’obyano who will congratulate you for completing the puzzle. Now a cutscene with choices will start to play, though your choices kind of matter, the choices will not affect your reward at the end.After the cutscene head back to X36.5/Y28.2, this will continue the questline “Fhul Me Once” by talking to R’majha. This cutscene will lead you back to Haermaga at X36.1/ Y26.7. Which will complete the Moonfire Faire event and give you the Summer Sunset items and the achievement “Ever Dependable Grandmentor”When you have completed the quest, you will be able to access your rewards which this year is a swimmers outfit, including a necklace design for the males. Though there is a male/female design the armour will change appearance based on your character’s gender meaning you only need to collect one set of armour. The outfit is also dyeable, allowing you to customise the outfit with different colours if you so wish. For those with access to housing, either personal or Free Company you will also be able to get a Summer Bonfire item for your garden.
