Best New Android Games This Week

Byadmin

Aug 10, 2022

Seven days…. Seven days! That equals a week, and a new week means a new list of Best New Android Games here at DroidGamers. Thankfully, it’s been a rather solid week for new releases, so we have a bunch to talk about!

If there are any big releases that we’ve missed this week, be sure to tell us in the comments. We’re always looking for the latest and greatest releases!

Best New Android Game: Papers, Please

If you’re looking for the best new Android games and you haven’t bought Papers, Please, you’re doing it wrong. Created by Lucas Pope, this dystopian border patrol game is one of the best indie titles to release over the past decade. It’s simply one of the greats.

After a decade of iOS exclusivity, Papers, Please has finally come to Android. Hell, even the PlayStation Vita got a port of the game before we Droid Gamers did. But is this new conversion worth the years-long wait to play on Android?

Absolutely, yes. Even a decade on, Papers, Please is still a phenomenal title no matter where you play it. This Android port does make some changes. For example, you’ll be playing with a new portrait aspect ratio and the game’s economy has been slightly rebalanced. Other than that, it’s the same game as before, just on Android.

If you want to play one of the best new Android games this week, you’ll have to pay for it. At just £4.09 or your regional equivalent, we think this is actually a steal. If you like proper games on Android without scummy monetisation, supporting this masterpiece is the way to go. Pick it up here.

Tower of Fantasy

At the time of writing, Tower of Fantasy isn’t technically available to play properly. However, the game does go live later today, and judging by what we’ve seen you won’t want to miss it.

As an open world gacha RPG, Tower of Fantasy is obviously vying for Genshin’s crown. Will it take it? Probably not, but it does look like a fun alternative!

Unlike Genshin, Tower of Fantasy has a brilliant character creator. You’re able to create your own unique anime protagonist to play as with a large suite of options, similar to Noah’s Heart

When the game launches proper, you’ll be able to explore a magnificent world. In this world, you’ll be tasked with exploring the alien world of Aida and uncovering the secrets of the Omnium Tower.

With fantastic hack and slash combat, Tower of Fantasy is part of a new wave of mobile games that prove mobile gaming isn’t just about idle games. And honestly, thank god. We were getting very bored of them. Pick up the game here.

Cross Summoner: R

A revived version of 2014’s beloved Cross Summoner, Cross Summoner: R has been eagerly awaited by fans. Bringing the once massive mobile JRPG to a new generation of pocket gamers, this is an exciting new release.

Another free-to-play gacha title, Cross Summoner: R doesn’t really do anything you haven’t seen before. However, it does have some gorgeous art work, although that is the norm nowadays.

In the game, you’ll be tasked with uncovering the mysteries of a destroyed world. To do this, you’ll have to use gacha mechanics to summon allies and build teams to fight!

You’ll be able to fight in huge PvE battles as well as engage in PvP to show off your team. If that interests you, check out the game over here

Heroes Corp

A one-man indie game for Android, Heroes Corp is a top-down shooter with voxel graphics. It’s a simplistic game, but has a free action game on Android, it’s worth a shot. After all, we love to support indie devs here at Droid Gamers.

In the game, you’ll fight enemies in simplistic voxel environments with spectacular particle effects. Each character is unique with many being parodies of famous anime or video game characters. For example, you can wreck the world as Saitama from One Punch Man or launch briefcases as Agent 47.

It’s a very simple game, but one you can easily sink a few hours into. After all, it’s free, so why not give it a shot. You can pick it up right here

Idle Startup

Another indie game created by one person, Idle Startup is exactly what it sounds like. If you’re a fan of watching numbers go up, this might be the game for you!

In Idle Startup, you’ll start as a solo developer, working to create a great company. As you work to get more resources, you’ll be able to expand to be one of the greats.

Portrayed with simplistic 3D graphics, this is an adorable little clicker that is surely worth a download. It is free after all; check it out here
