If you want to explore all of the map in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you need to unlock all of the Traversal Powers. There is a Hero Quest at this location, around level 28. Head to this location and look for the ? icon on your map, it’s exactly where I am standing in the image above. Once you reach the ? icon you will start the Hero Quest Going Beyond Power.
You will need to follow the quest objectives, be sure to use the ZL+X tracker to follow the objectives quickly and easily. Towards the end of the mission an NPC called Teach will join your party. Just as you arrive at another sand hill, you’ll notice it moves and you cannot climb it. Shortly after, Teach will teach you Scree Walking.
Once unlocked, you will be able to climb hills.
