Atomweight Victoria Lee is content with MMA career.

With just one MMA fight to her name, 16-year-old Victoria Lee is happy with simply enjoying the journey. Entering martial arts at a young age was something her family prided themselves on, and now, she’s creating her own legacy.

Friday night will see her make her return to the circle for her second MMA bout. This fight is also her second test under the ONE Championship banner.

In her professional debut, Lee secured a second-round rear-naked-choke submission against Sunisa Srisan, who fell to 4-2 with the loss.

Victoria Lee is the youngest fighter in ONE Champoinship

Lee’s victory made her the youngest active fighter on the roster to-date, as she is just 16 years of age. Her next bout is against Wang Luping, as it will be contested in the atomweight division during the ONE: Battleground event in Singapore.

Lee was happy with the way her debut went and feels she has made significant improvements to her overall MMA base. With her competing at such a young age, Lee is looking to remain committed to the sport for the long haul and is excited to see where the sport takes her. And with those sacrifices comes life changes, which Lee is slowly beginning to realize.

”I won’t be going back to competing in high school wrestling,” Lee said during her pre-fight media scrum. “I finally have my dream career and so, I am 100 percent focused on just training MMA as a whole. And wrestling has been very helpful to me in gaining experience and it was extremely fun to compete every weekend, but now I think I’m transitioning onto a bigger next step for me, and [MMA] is going to be my 100 percent focus.”

Lee will hope to compete in front of a packed arena one day, but for now, only time will tell.

ONE: Battleground takes place on Friday, July 30, live from Singapore. Follow along with FanSided for all your live news and highlights.
