Ripple Effect Studios has announced that Battlefield 2042‘s Battlefield Portal will include two settings for its weapons in an effort to balance out the World War II-era and modern armaments featured in the game. In that respect, players will have two types: Official and Historical.Speaking during an interview with JackFrags, Thomas Anderson, the studio’s creative director, commented:We have two different tweaks for the weapons. We have that’s the “official” setting that is balanced against the 2042 weapons. Whether it’s a Thompson gun or whatever ttype thing is, right? These can stand against the offering that we have in 2042. And thern we have, we call this “Historical” tweaks. So if you want to create a very symmetrical game mode, you can have the historical tweaks of (BF) 1942 aside the modern tweaks of 2042. But it’s up to you if you want to set the official thing, or if you want the historical setting.Battlefield Portal gives players the chance to create a wealth of custom gameplay experiences using maps, units, weapons, and more from previous Battlefield games.
