Activision Blizzard employees are hosting a walkout tomorrow (July 28) in protest against the company’s leaders and their actions following the allegations of gross harassment against the company. Those protesting say that they “believe that our values as employees are not being accurately reflected in the words and actions of our leadership.”The news comes from a new report on website Axios, who spoke to an employee at Activision Blizzard who will be participating in the walkout tomorrow. According to the report it’ll be happening both virtually and in person with the virtual walkout lasting from 9 am to 6 pm PT, and the in person taking place at Blizzard’s Irvine campus from 10 am to 2 pm.At least 300 employees are currently spearheading the initiative across the company, all asking for the internal culture to change drastically and rework multiple facets such as an end to arbitration clauses in all employee contracts, as many employees say they only protect abusers when cases of harassment are brought up, and limit any resolution for the victims. In terms of morale, things are at an all time low for the company. Many employees have taken to Twitter to express their anger and frustration with their employer, many women have also come forward and shared their stories on social media, and also according to the Axios report are beginning to speak up more in meetings about times they have been made to feel disenfranchised.Hopefully, this change of no longer passing over the discussion both outside the company and inside will enact some solid change, as employees are doing all they can now to stand up for themselves.Source – [Axios]
