See fellow UFC fighters react to the master-class performance put on by Alexander Volkanovski as he retained the UFC featherweight championship against Max Holloway at UFC 276

Alexander Volkanovski put his rivalry with Max Holloway to bed in emphatic fashion at UFC 276, putting on a striking clinic and an absolute beatdown to retain the UFC featherweight championship in the co-main event.

Volkanovski got off to a strong start even during the feeling-out process, proving to have the cleaner, quicker and crisper strikes. This was further emphasized in the second round, when one of Volkanovski’s strikes opened up a nasty gash around the left eye of Holloway.

Despite Holloway’s best efforts to pressure Volkanovski and utilize kicks more, Volkanovski just looked that much better. Volkanovksi’s speed and technique didn’t slow down and didn’t diminish in strength.

In the fifth round, Holloway showed off his heart, chin and fighting spirit by not backing down as blood trickled all over his face. But it wasn’t even close — all three judges scored the bout for Volkanovski with 50-45 scores.
