Bethesda has dropped a new trailer for Redfall, along with a detailed breakdown of the “top things you need to know” about the co-op vampire-slaying game.”Redfall has everything you could want from a cooperative, story-driven FPS experience, plus everything Arkane fans have come to expect from the studio,” Bethesda says. Check out the new trailer below:Welcome to Redfall trailerAccording to Bethesda, Redfall offers “an open world packed with mystery, a diverse roster of heroes to choose from, strategic combat that will keep you on your toes, painstakingly crafted environments, a rich narrative driving you through the world, a wide array of weapons… and vampires. A lot of vampires.” First up, we’re told about the different hero types we can choose from, outlined below just as in Bethesda’s post:Layla Ellison: A biomedical engineering student who interned at a research facility, where something went very wrong, leaving her with intense telekinetic abilities.Jacob Boyer: An ex-military sharpshooter turned private contractor. Strange happenings on Redfall have left Jacob with a mysterious vampiric eye and a spectral raven that’s never far from his side.Remi de la Rosa: A brilliant combat engineer who has spent her life on the frontlines. With the help of her robot cohort, Bribón, she’s determined to help rescue Redfall’s survivors.Devinder Crousley: A cryptozoologist and aspiring inventor. Armed with weapons of his own creation, he’s on a mission to prove himself.Studio and creative director Harvey Smith reminds us that “Our vampires are not some aspirational fantasy… They’re predatory monsters who feed on the vulnerable to make themselves more powerful.” Redfall will apparently be both familiar and the extraordinary, while the vampires have drastically changed the island, blocking both the surrounding water and the sun. These vampires, armed with psychic powers, will also have their own hierarchy (with minions at the lowest level), but we’re also going to be in danger from the vampire-worshipping cultists. Redfall will be littered with cultist camps and Nests, which are ominously described as “twisted psychic spaces,” but we’ll be able to help clean up Redfall bit by bit by reclaiming lost neighbourhoods for the town’s inhabitants. We’ll be armed with everything form shotguns and sniper rifles to weapons specifically created to hunt vampires, such as the Stake Launcher and the UV Beam, but we’ll also need to strategise by checking our gear, using stealth, or sending a raven to check out the area for us. Smith adds that “Redfall is a game where stealth can be used to get the drop on an enemy, reach a good vantage, or avoid a combat encounter altogether… It’s not a pure stealth game, but a stealth-enabling shooter.” Redfall was delayed along with Starfield, with both games pushed back to the first half of 2023.
