The Denver Broncos have a really good chance to go 3-0 to start the 2021 season, as they host the New York Jets next Sunday.
Only two weeks into the 2021 NFL season, and fans and media members alike are seeing some big surprises. Let’s be real, no one thought the Denver Broncos would be undefeated two weeks into the season, let alone hold first place in the AFC West alongside the Las Vegas Raiders. Yet here we are.
This past Sunday, the Broncos defeated the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars 23-13 to improve to a 2-0 record to start the season. Now, the Broncos have the chance to go 3-0 next week when they face a rebuilding New York Jets team that is dealing with huge injuries on both sides of the ball.
Here are five bold predictions for the Broncos in their official home opener.
5. Teddy Bridgewater throws for 350 yards against Jets
The trade acquisition of Teddy Bridgewater looks better by the day for the Broncos. By only surrendering a sixth-round draft pick, Denver has a quarterback that is playing great football and making very little mistakes on the field. That was evident against the Jaguars.
Bridgewater completed 26-of-34 pass attempts for 328 yards and two touchdowns against Jacksonville’s secondary. For those saying that the veteran plays too conservatively, he silenced those by making a 55-yard pass to wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
Now, Bridgewater moves on to face a Jets defense that has allowed an average of 214.5 passing yards per game. Granted, that is mostly due to the Patriots playing it safe in the passing game with Mac Jones and leaning heavily on the running game. With Denver’s passing attack, even without Jerry Jeudy on the field, the Jets will be in trouble.
Hence why Bridgewater will throw for 350 yards in Denver on Sunday.
