Halo Infinite Season 2 launched earlier this week, but not everyone is happy with some of the new changes made to the game. Developer 343 Industries has now admitted that the launch of Season 2 has been “bumpy.”343 Industries’ Joseph Staten said in a tweet, “Hey Spartans, this week has been bumpy. That definitely wasn’t our goal.” Players have criticised 343 for a number of issues and changes that have cropped up since the launch of Season 2 and for patching out certain aspects of the campaign, such as the Pelican hijacking glitch, which speedrunners would use to fly over the map.Halo Infinite Season 2 issuesOne of the more prevalent issues that players seem to be running into after installing the Season 2 update is a “jamming” bug, which causes semi-automatic weapons to randomly jam. Halo’s senior community manager John Junyszek, says this is not an intended mechanic and that a fix is being worked on.Junyszek also commented on the tracking issues a lot of players have been facing with Halo Infinite’s Interference Event, which have now been fixed. “For the Interference Event, Last Spartan Standing challenges should now be tracking more accurately and helping you earn rewards. There may be a delay if you leave early, but all progress should count once the match finishes in the background.” As an apology, all players that login while the event is live will receive 5 XP Boosts and 5 Challenge Swaps. Junyszek says 343 will also be reducing the difficulty of “some Event Challenges and making it so that completing them earns you 2 levels on the Event Pass.”Junyszek then addressed the Halo Infinite community on some of the changes that have impacted various multiplayer jumps and campaign speedrun strategies. Junyszek said that while 343 can’t promise anything yet, the developer is “taking the feedback seriously and reviewing options internally.”Head of creative for Halo Infinite, Joseph Staten, later tweeted saying, “We are indeed taking your feedback to heart, especially regarding map jumps and speedrunning. We’re reviewing options and will have more news to come.” It’s good to see 343 acknowledging feedback from players, and it will be interesting to see if the developer decides to patch back in things like the Pelican hijack glitch. With Halo Infinite Season 2, the ‘tank gun’ glitch, which made LASO runs and the Headmaster achievement a breeze, was also patched out. Perhaps 343 would be willing to bring that back too? Still, at least we can finally unlock all the Halo Infinite achievements now that Medic! is poppable. Halo Infinite’s second season also brought us a bunch of new challenges and rewards.
