There are many reasons to watch PFL 6, but these are three of the biggest.
PFL 6 is upon us and the show has a lot of interesting storylines for fans to check out. For instance, the crowded scene in the Women’s Lightweight Tournament rankings. There are three women tied with three points, and none of them are facing one another at PFL 6, meaning there could be some really crazy nonsense going on with the standings.
Then of course there’s the fact the heavyweights are going to see Denis Goltsov and Bruno Cappelozza both compete on the card. Both men are the current point leaders for their division and both are coming off of KO/TKO finishes. Will both men continue their upward trajectory and clinch their playoff births?
That’s just two storylines to pay attention to, but here are the three with the most substance.
These are three reasons to watch PFL 6.
Can Lance Palmer get a first-round win to make the playoffs?
Lance Palmer is one of the few icons of PFL, having won the featherweight tournament on two occasions. For him to get into the playoffs, he has to not only defeat the unbeaten Movlid Khaybulaev but do so in the first round. Otherwise, he won’t have enough points to get into the playoffs. There’s the chance he ties with Sheymon Moraes, and then the promotion would have to figure out who advances. If Palmer wins in the first round, he’ll get in automatically as Moraes has already fought twice.
Does Anthony Pettis have anything left?
Some were shocked to see Anthony Pettis get wrecked in his PFL debut. Some were, this writer was not. Pettis hasn’t looked like an elite fighter since winning the UFC lightweight championship. He’s very beatable and at PFL 6, he’ll have the chance to prove his critics wrong as he gets one final shot to make the PFL playoffs. All he has to do is get a stoppage win over Raush Manfio and he’ll be in.
To see Kayla Harrison do her thing.
Kayla Harrison is box office. She wrecks her opponents with a brutality that even the most jaded MMA fan will enjoy. That’s it. That’s the reason.
