Teams and Dota 2 fans worldwide eagerly awaited this item because we all know it helps The International prize pool. However, TI12 has the lowest prize pool increase in the event’s history so far. The International 12 compendium became available 3 days ago, and the current prize pool sits at around $2.6M. The International 12 Compendium Drama
Although some people were excited about the new TI12 Compendium features, it’s safe to say that most players are disappointed. That’s one of the reasons why the event’s prize pool is so low.
Buy why is the Compendium not as good as people expected? Well, there are a couple of reasons, and one of them is the lack of cosmetic items. Even though Valve said a couple of times that this year’s Compendium will be a bit different, players expected to see at least a couple of things. Sadly, we did not get anything special.
Another thing that Valve said is that the new Compendium will focus on gameplay. While it is true that there are a few new things, such as the advanced Fantasy options and Bingo, most people are not happy with what’s available.
If you take a look at the Dota 2 Reddit, you will notice that the majority of people do not like the Compendium at all. Since there is some time left until The International 12, we wouldn’t be surprised if Valve decides to change some things. Adding at least a few cosmetic items will make this game more attractive. However, we are yet to see if this will happen.
So, Should you buy The International 12 Compendium?
Everyone has to decide whether getting this item is worth it, but if you are an active Dota 2 player and want to help TI12’s prize pool, you should probably get it. On the other hand, there are no special items or other things that were present in the previous years’ Battle Pass.
Some things are better about this year’s Compendium, such as the Collector’s Aegis. Instead of spending thousands of dollars, you can actually get it once you reach level 300, which makes it cheaper.
